Iran reveals volume of loans granted in services sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Iranian banks extended loans worth 19.2 quadrillion rials (about $458 billion) in the service sector in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), the statistics of Iran's Central Bank said, Trend reports.

According to the statistics, 14.6 quadrillion rials (about $348 billion) worth of loans were extended to the Iranian services sector as working capital last year.

Statistics show that Iranian banks extended loans worth about 3.3 quadrillion rials (about 78.3 billion dollars) last year to establish businesses and facilities in the service sector.

The statistics add that 934 trillion rials (about $22.2 billion) worth of loans were granted for the development of the service sector and 241 trillion rials (about $5.74 billion) for self-employment.

The report notes that Iranian banks extended loans worth 98.4 trillion rials (about $2.34 billion) for personal goods in the service sector, 29.5 trillion rials (about $703 million) for housing, and 15.6 trillion rials (about $372 million) for renovation works during the mentioned period.

To note, Iranian banks extended loans worth 46.1 quadrillion rials (about $1.01 trillion) last Iranian year.
