( Irna ) - An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale jolted suburbs of the city of Gorgan in the northern province of Golestan Monday morning.
The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, registered the quake at 0814 hours local time (0445 GMT).
The quake was epicentered in an area measuring 54.36 degrees in longitude and 36.68 degrees in latitude, the report added.
There are no reports of any casualty or damage to property caused by the quake.
On September 6, Gorgan was hit by a 3.5-magnitude earthquake, causing no damage.
Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
