The US uses terrorist groups and takfirists [followers of the radical movement in Islam] to achieve their goals, which is the most serious and obvious threat to Iran today,commander of Army Ground Force of Iran, brigadier general Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said.
He made the remarks in an interview to the Iranian Al-Alam TV channel.
He said that the US changed tactics, because it didn't succeed in the region over the past few years.
Pourdastan went on to add that the United States lost the fight in the economic sphere as well.
"After the Islamic Revolution, the United States used a variety of sanctions against Iran, including the ones paralyzing the country, and still it cannot break the spirit of the Iranian people," he said.
