Iranian experts have installed a "B18" platform weighing 2.3 tons at the South Pars gas field.
The platform's capacity for gas extraction stands at 14 million cubic meters per day and it is expected to come on stream by late November, IRNA news agency reported.
According to the report, three other platforms (B19, B17 and B20) are also scheduled to be installed in the coming months.
In total, Iran is projected to add 100 million cubic meters of gas per day to the current 431 million cubic meters per day production capacity of South Pars by March 2017.
The platforms 13A and 13B are also projected to be installed in the next Iranian calendar year, which will start on March 21, 2017.
Iran plans to produce 700 million cubic meters of gas per day from South Pars field, when all of phases become operational by 2019.
