There have always been negotiations between Iranian airline companies and vendors in the world for the purchase of new airplanes and currently continues but still, no specific change has happened, said the head of Iran's Aviation Companies Association.
Airline companies are negotiating with all real and legal entities that are interested in selling airplanes to Iran, Maghsoud Asadi Samani told Trend in an interview.
"The situation is not in a way that we could name the companies since it is possible that the Americans might pressure the companies," he said responding to a question about names of airplane manufacturers that are in negotiation with Iran.
Samani went on to note that the latest negotiations between Iran and Airbus experienced no specific changes and direct negotiations are ongoing.
"The contract between Iran Air and Boeing goes back to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Trump has caused annul of the contract. Iran Air and Boeing are currently in corresponding to revive this contract and the issue is being followed but Boeing has not responded yet," he said referring to Boeing company following the contract to deliver airplanes to Iran.
"There is an ongoing negotiation with Russia for the purchase of Sukhoi," the official added.
