Iran`s National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) is preparing to sign a contract for production of 45,000 dual-fuel taxis, the company's CEO, Reza Kazem Nejad said, Trend reports citing Mehr news agency.
“The contract worth over $ 20 million, will be signed by the Deputy Minister of Oil Jalil Salari and the CEO of Iran Khodro Group Company Farshad Moghimi,” the NIORDC director of research and technology Reza Kazem Nejad announced.
Iran's auto production during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021) increased by 1.8 percent.
The country's automakers produced 560,514 vehicles from March 21 to October 22 while it is predicted that annual production would increase to 3 million vehicles by 2025.
There are ongoing projects in the auto industry that are expected to affect the production growth.
Auto production is expected to reach 1.6 million vehicles in the next Iranian year (starts March 21, 2022).
