BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. The exports of non-oil products from Razavi Khorasan Province, located in northeastern Iran, increased by 19 percent in value and 31 percent in weight in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2024), controller of customs of Razavi Khorasan Province in Iran Javad Jafari said, Trend reports.
According to Jafari, Iran's Razavi Khorasan Province exported 2.91 million tons of non-oil items totaling $1.7 billion last year and the province's principal exports are saffron, pistachios, polyethylene, eggs, and other products. These products were primarily supplied to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Based on an official, last year the province imported 295,000 tons of merchandise worth $749 million. Imported products climbed in value by 14 percent and weight by 6.7 percent over the previous year.
He underlined that imported products primarily include cell phones and cotton. These products were primarily imported from the UAE, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.
Jafari further stated that 3.44 million tons of merchandise were moved via Khorasan Razavi Province last year. The transit of products grew by 15 percent over the previous year.
To note, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, the country's non-oil exports in the last Iranian year amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Iran's non-oil exports decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year.
Statistics from the Iranian Customs Administration indicate that imports of products to the country in the last Iranian year amounted to 39 million tons worth approximately $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
