During the military parade in Tehran, dedicated to "Sacred Defense" week, Iran demonstrated a new type of Segil 2 ballistic missile.
After Shahab-3 and Ghadr, Segil 2 is the most powerful missile, Fars agency reported. Segil began to be produced in Iran in large numbers.
Segil missile were tested last year. Unlike Shahab-3 and Ghadr missiles, this missile operates on solid fuel. At the same time, it is mobile and can hit targets at a distance of 2000 km.
Each year, the date of Iraq's attack on Iran is marked as "Sacred Defense" week in this country. On this occasion, military parades are held in Tehran and other cities, demonstrating military equipment.
Iran-Iraq war began on Sept. 22, 1980 after Iraq's attack on the Iranian province of Khuzestan. The war ended on Aug. 20, 1988 with signing the act of reconciliation, which restored the prewar situation.
