New talks is chance for 5+1 countries: secretary general of Iranian national security council

Secretary General of the Iranian National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, visited Geneva on Sept. 30, the official website of the Iranian TV channel reported.

Now, Iran begins talks with the "5 +1"countries, Jalili told journalists at the airport in Tehran. Iran considers these negotiations as part of the strategic, long-term and mutual cooperation, Jalili added.

"We believe these negotiations will be a chance to start the cooperation between Iran and the five permanent members of UN Security Council and Germany (5+1)," Jalili said, answering the question how will be considered the proposals made by the "5+1" countries? According to Jalili, Iran hopes that these countries will appraise the given chance as an opportunity for cooperation.

The"5 +1" countries and Iran will begin discussions on Iran's nuclear program on Oct.1. The U.S., France and U.K. have threatened Iran with new sanctions regarding the fact that Tehran continues to enrich uranium.
