Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged Iranian scientists not to let politics get involved in scientific and research centers, the official IRNA news agency reported Jan. 31.

Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with academics, researchers and officials working in the field of nanotechnology.

Earlier in the day, the Iranian leader visited an exhibition on the latest achievements Iran has made in the field of nanotechnology.

"The Progress made in the field of nanotechnology has indicated that tangible breakthrough can be made by mobilizing a team of caring and skilful professionals," Khamenei said.

The Supreme Leader advised the scientists to adopt "precise planning, management stability and identifying superior talents in the field of nanotechnology" to make further advancements in the field of nanotechnology.

He further urged the need to accelerate rhythm of Iran's scientific progress noting that in order to reach the necessary authority, Iranians must strengthen themselves on a daily basis.

"The enemies of Iran are mounting their bullying and hostility to the Islamic Republic for its political, social and ideological independence. Therefore, the country must proceed with empowerment day by day in order to reach the status in science and technology and thwart their hostility to Iran in different ways," Khamenei said.
