Baku, Moscow agree to start pharma production in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan and Russia have signed a memorandum of understanding on establishing pharmaceutical production in Azerbaijan.

The document was signed by Azerbaijan’s Vita-A company, Russian R-Pharm and Azerbaijan Investment Company during the Azerbaijan-Russia business forum in Baku.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Economy Minister Niyazi Safarov said that the products of the new enterprise which is called Hayat Pharm, will meet the demands of the domestic market and it is also planned to export it in the future.

Malaysia’s Petronas interested in expanding ties with SOCAR

Malaysia’s Petronas oil and gas company is interested in further expanding the ties with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), said Petronas President Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin in Baku.

He made the remarks during a meeting with SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, said SOCAR’s website.

During the meeting, Abdullayev talked about the long-term effective cooperation between SOCAR and Petronas and noted that the companies will continue their successful joint activities.

Ilham Aliyev meets Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg. The meeting was held as part of President Aliyev’s working visit to Russia.

President Aliyev attends opening of Mashtaga-Bilgah highway, streets in Nardaran

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today reviewed newly reconstructed Mashtaga-Bilgah highway in Sabunchu district, as well as the Absheron and Nasrulla Asgarov streets in Nardaran settlement (Sabunchu district, Baku).

The reconstruction of Mashtaga-Bilgah highway started in March 2016. The highway links three settlements with the population of 63,000 people.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink.

Israel expanding co-op with Azerbaijan’s regions

Israel’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Dan Stav has paid his first visit to Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and held a number of meetings.

During the visit, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov and other high-ranking officials received the ambassador, Israeli embassy in Baku told Trend. During the discussions, the parties touched upon the possibilities of cooperation in trade, agriculture, tourism, heath care and water resources management.
