Armenian Foreign Minister receives delegation of Danish parliamentarians and journalists who earlier visited occupied territories of Azerbaijan

Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan received the delegation of Danish parliamentaries and journalists, Armenia Today reported.

The delegation was headed by Chairwoman of the European Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament, Eva Kjer Hansen.

The Parties also spoke about the Armenian approach to a number of regional and international issues, Armenia's participation in work of international organizations and cooperation with regional organizations.

Earlier Armenian media spread information that "Foreign Minister" of the separatist regime of Nagorno-Karabakh, Karen Mirzoyan received a delegation of Danish MPs and journalists.

As the head of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry press service, Elman Abdullayev stressed, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry will investigate the information about the visit to the occupied territories of the country of Danish deputies and journalists.

Azerbaijani embassy in the UK is given the necessary orders, upon the completion of the investigation a corresponding decision will be made, he said.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan.Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 per cent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the U.S. are currently holding peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
