A Georgian battalion arrived home from Afghanistan this week.
Georgian First Deputy Defense Minister Nikoloz Dzimtseishvili and Chief of the Joint Staff, Major-General Devi Chankotadze greeted the soldiers, the ministry reported.
The Third Infantry Brigade soldiers participated in ISAF operations under the aegis of NATO as part of the French peace contingent.
The soldiers stated that they are ready to continue fulfilling the mission wherever necessary.
Chankotadze congratulated the soldiers on finishing their mission without casualties.
Earlier 700 soldiers serving under the authority of the United States in Afghanistan returned in Tbilisi. They had served six months and lost five men.
