The operation of the Tbilisi Metro was paralysed on Sunday evening. As the Metro administration reported, suicide of a 50-year-old man was responsible for this.

At around 9:00 pm, 50-year-old Fridon Dzhandzhgava descended to the platform of Samgori metro station and threw himself under an incoming train. Doctors, who arrived at the scene, failed to save the man who received serious injuries.

Immediately afterwards, the man's mother and sister came to the metro. As it turned out, Dzhandzhgava had already tried to commit suicide by cutting his veins, but was rescued and then decided to commit suicide by throwing himself under a train.

According to preliminary data, he took this decision after his sister pledged their shared flat to the bank and it was time to pay. However, there was no money and the man decided to commit suicide.

According to relatives whom police interrogated all night, there was a fraud taking place in a deal with the mortgaged apartment, in which a representative of the 'Free Georgia opposition party Sopho Bukia figures. According to Dzhandzhgava's relatives, she induced his sister to pledge the flat under the pretext of her employment in the party.
Bukia is already wanted for a number of similar matters.
