Georgian Interior Minister Irakli Garibashvili intends to establish close cooperation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ramil Usubov.

At a press-conference at the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday he expressed his intention to visit Baku in the near future.

"Our policy is about developing close relationships with the neighbors, especially with fraternal Azerbaijan", he said.

According to the Georgian minister, cooperation with Azerbaijan is considered by the geostrategic policy of the government of Georgia, and he, as head of a ministry, pursues this policy in the field of law enforcement.

"We share many common interests in terms of combating crimes, and I believe we will establish good and close relations," Garibashvili said.

He also commented on the frequent looting in areas of compact settlement of Azerbaijanis in Georgia and said that these crimes would be solved.
