IMF mission to work on tax administration issues in Georgia

Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri met with a mission from the International Monetary Fund, headed by Enrico Aavi.

IMF representatives will work on issues of tax administration jointly with the income service of the mission, the Georgian Ministry of Finance said on Wednesday.

As it was stressed at the last meeting, the IMF mission will develop recommendations for Georgia on issues such as tax administration and the mechanisms of its improvement, procedures for returning overpaid taxes, the necessary conditions for effective work of alternative audits and others.

Nodar Khaduri thanked the IMF representatives for cooperation and said that during the visit of the mission they will be provided with comprehensive information about the current administration system and tax law.

The mission ends at the end of next week.
