The chief of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze is on a two-day visit to Ukraine upon the invitation of the Ukrainian side.
Kapanadze reviewed the "Rapid Trident-2014" military exercises, the Georgian Defense Ministry told Trend September 22.
A platoon of the first Infantry Brigade of the Georgian Armed Forces is involved in the exercises, held in the Yavoriv International Peacekeeping and Security Center.
During the visit Kapanadze met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Valery Heletey. At the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects of the Georgian-Ukrainian bilateral cooperation in the field of defense.
