Georgian Rural Development Program started accepting applications for the Green Grants, Trend reports via Georgian media.
Applications will be submitted electronically on the Rural Development Agency website from October 8 through December 31.
The aim of the program is to support the development of rural non-agricultural entrepreneurial activities in Keda, Khulo, Borjomi, Akhalkalaki, Tetritskaro, Kazbegi, Lagodekhi, and Dedoplistskaro municipalities.
The Green Grants include co-financing of simple solar heaters and solar water heaters (sSWH / sSAH), where the maximum amount of the grant to be financed by the Agency is up to 1,000 Georgian lari ($317) – grant up to 90 percent. The beneficiary's participation in the program is set at not less than 10 percent of the total cost.
The Green Grants also include vacuum-type solar water heaters (vSWH), with the 3,000 Georgian lari ($952) maximum grant amount to be funded by the Agency – up to 80 percent of the grant. The beneficiary's contribution is set at not less than 20 percent of the total cost.
The Grants as well include thermal insulation of the building. The maximum amount of this grant to be financed is up to 8,000 Georgian lari ($2,539) – up to 70 percent of the grant, and the co-beneficiary's contribution is set at not less than 30 percent of the total cost.
The maximum amount of the grant for complete thermal insulation of the building is set at 12,000 Georgian lari ($3,809) – up to 60 percent of the grant, and the co-beneficiary's contribution is not less than 40 percent of the total cost.
