The Greenhouse Cluster Development project of Georgia’s Imereti Agro Zone (IAZ) is moving forward, as the IAZ representatives continue to hold talks on the matter, IAZ told Trend.

“Active discussions are being held between IAZ and the USAID, the UNDP, ADB,” the source said.

Also, the company is in close cooperation with various development agencies and is considering signing the respective Memorandum of Understanding with the sole purpose of supporting the mentioned project.

"The IAZ and the project consultants have engaged with a wide range of international financial institutions, commercial banks, and development agencies, expressing their support of the Greenhouse Cluster Development Project," the source said.

Further, a request for proposals was announced from November 1 through December 31, 2021, which resulted in some 30 investment proposals from 10 different countries, including Georgia, being received, the source said.

Earlier reports said the largest amount of investment proposals has been received from Netherlands, which is mostly related to greenhouse constructions. The offers were also received from Israel, Italy, Germany, France, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and other countries.

“Currently, the submitted proposals are being studied. The presentation of the results will probably be held at the end of January 2022,” the IAZ added.
