Georgia launches new program to promote export growth

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. Enterprise Georgia state agency has launched new export incentive program, Trend reports via the press service of the agency.

The agency's current program is aimed at providing technical assistance to exporting companies.

The program will allow to eliminate export barriers in beneficiary companies and the introduction of export incentive mechanisms to facilitate the diversification of export markets, products and services, identify sectors and products with high export potential, and encourage international sales.

The program covers up to 10 target sectors, including food and beverage products (except wine), clothing, leather and leather goods, footwear, toys, ready-made pet food, veterinary products, furniture, jewelry, and packaging materials.

The co-financing from the agency will include the licensing and certification of the product (no more than 10,000 euros), branding and packaging of the product (no more than 6,000 euros), an international network access (no more than 10,000 euros).

The export incentive program will be carried out throughout Georgia. Moreover, the program will be implemented in Imereti, Kakheti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions within the framework of the Integrated Pilot Regions Development Program.
