Egyptian Vice President Omar Suleiman said a deputy prime minister will be appointed to take charge of the "national dialogue," state television reported.
Suleiman had "asked Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq to appoint a deputy for him from the wise men to be responsible for the "national dialogue," the report said.
The newly-appointed vice president began talks last weekend with various representatives of opposition groups to discuss and work on implement reforms, DPA reported.
An informal group of Egyptian intellectuals, dubbed "the wise men" by local media, were among those involved in the talks.
