Nearly 200 people died in a boat accident in the Red Sea, according to Sudanese sources on Tuesday.
The state-run Sudanese Media Center (SMC) reported that the victims were immigrants from the surrounding African countries who were trying to cross the Red Sea to Saudi Arabia, DPA reported.
A fire on board the boat caused it to sink in Sudanese waters. Only three people were rescued and 197 were thought to have drowned, the report said.
