"Big blast" rocks district of Syria's Homs: state TV
Syria's TV said big blast rocked al-Khalidieh neighborhood in central Homs province overnight Friday, Xinhua reported.
The blast occurred after an "armed terrorist group" booby- trapped al-Shawader street in al-Khalidieh neighborhood of Homs, the report said.
A large number of armed men were killed in the blast, adding that the "terrorists" are pilling up the bodies of their killed comrades in order to portray them as victims of an army-led attack, according to the report.
Activists' groups haven't commented on the incident yet, but reported heavy shelling on a number of areas nationwide, including the town of Qusair in Homs province.
The Local Coordination Commitees, a network of activists, said as many as 100 people have been killed Friday nationwide, while the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights placed the death toll at 70.
