( EuroNews ) The European Commission is spearheading an initiative to make every Friday healthier, greener and possibly faster. Commission staff and the Ministers of the Environment and Mobility, together with private sector representatives are urging the public to take to their bikes. The idea is to make people leave their cars at home at least once a week and it is hoped the aptly named "Friday Bikeday" scheme will have a positive impact on commuters and even lead to a reduction in traffic.
