( dpa ) - Taiwan was struck by two undersea quakes on the eastern part of the island, but no damage or casualties were reported so far, the earthquake centre said Monday.
The first quake measured 5.8 on the Richter scale occurred at 4:33 am (2033 GMT), shaking Yuli in the eastern county of Hualien. The second onw struck 21 minutes later with a magnitude of 4.4 near Yuli, the centre said.
Police said there were no reports of damage or casualties.
