( dpa ) - In a new audio message attributed to al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and aired on al-Jazeera television on Thursday, the terrorist leader criticized the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip.
He said the situation in Gaza has been aided by Arab governments that he called complicit by meeting in Annapolis, Maryland in November for US-organized Mideast peace talks.
The message also called on Muslims to support the insurgency in Iraq. It was unclear if the voice on the tape was definitely bin Laden.
Bin Laden released a video message on Islamic websites a day earlier threatening European countries over cartoons of the Muslim prophet Mohammed that unleashed violent protests in Muslim countries after they were published in Danish newspapers. The US government said Thursday they believed that message was actually from the terrorist leader.
