Ukrainian President to Testify in Prosecutor General’s Office

Ukraine, Kiev, 22 July/ Trend corr. Z.Novosvitskiy / Viktor Yushenko Ukrainian President will pay a visit to the Prosecutor General's Office on 22 July.

The Ukrainian newspaper 'Zerkao nedeli' (on 12-18 July) reported the information referring to the presidential news-service that the President would give evidence of being poisoning in the Prosecutor General's Office

"President will testify in the Prosecutor General's Office in compliance with the schedule made by the investigator Klimovich. The next meeting will be held on 22 July," is stated in the information.


According to the newspaper, this will be the second meeting of the President with Klimovich. The first meeting was held at the beginning of the investigation process and carried familiarization character.

On 5 September 2004, the Ukrainian President, being a presidential candidate, felt ail and was hospitalized to the Viennese based Rudolfinerhouse hospital on 10 September.

Physicians of the hospital stated that Yushenko was poisoned with dioxin. 

David Jvaniya, former Yushnko's companion-in-arms in the Orange Revolution and current MP from the Our Ukraine -Popular Defense bloc, said that Yushenko was not poisoned. The results of the medical examination were faked. Jvaniya said that the fact of his poisoning was planned in the election headquarters, when he was a candidate to the presidential post.
