Sixteen inmates die in mutiny in Mexican prison

Some sixteen inmates died and 17 others were injured in a jail mutiny in the northern Mexican city of Reynosa, on the border with the United States, according to preliminary information made public by the authorities.

The state attorney in the state of Tamaulipas, Manuel Miranda, was quoted by the news agency Notimex as saying that the mutiny happened in the early hours of Monday, reports dpa.
