A partial eclipse of the moon was due Saturday in central parts of North America, DPA reported.
The eclipse was to begin at 5:17 am in the US central time zone (1017 GMT) and conclude at 8 am (1300 GMT).
The lunar eclipse, in which the Earth's shadow will darken part of the moon, will not be visible in the eastern
United States. The celestial event becomes best visible in an area generally west of the Mississippi River, and across the entire western part of the continent.
