French President Nicolas Sarkozy, his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel met Tuesday in the French resort of Deauville for a second day of talks, DPA reported.
Sarkozy and Merkel want to convince Medvedev to move Russia closer to Europe. They also want Moscow to play a larger role in European security issues, such as terrorism and rogue states.
The talks are scheduled to end at midday with a joint press conference.
