German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle is to visit Russia, Lithuania and, for the first time in his one-year-old tenure, Belarus, a spokesman said in Berlin Friday, DPA reported.

A stop on Monday in Moscow will allow the German to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and discuss both missile defence disputes and the upcoming summit in Lisbon of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO).

Russia's President Dmitri Medvedev is to attend the Lisbon meeting.

On Tuesday, Westerwelle visits Vilnius and the Belarus capital Minsk where a meeting with Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is possible.

During the Minsk stop, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski will accompany Westerwelle. The German minister will also meet with dissidents who oppose Lukashenko's authoritarian rule. Belarus is to hold a presidential election on December 19.
