A NATO soldier died during an insurgents attack in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, the military alliance said, DPA reported.
The soldier died "following an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan today" the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement.
The military did not disclose the nationality of the dead soldier.
Most of the NATO troops in the south are from the United States, Britain and Canada.
Around 150,000 US and NATO troops are currently based in the war-torn country.
A total of 623 international troops have been killed in the increasingly violent insurgency so far this year, the bloodiest year for the foreign forces since their deployment in 2001.
