At least 18 people have been killed and 15 others wounded in a terrorist attack against a police station in northwestern Pakistan, Press TV reported.
An explosive-laden car struck the Miryan police station on the outskirts of the town of Bannu on Wednesday.
The attack badly damaged a nearby mosque as well, AFP reported.
"We have received 18 dead bodies and 15 injured," said a doctor in Bannu's main hospital, Mohammad Rahim.
The District Police Chief Mohammad Iftikhar said most of those injured were of the police and paramilitary forces.
Taliban-linked militants have claimed responsibility of the attack, saying it was to avenge US drone attacks in Pakistan's tribal belt, bordering Afghanistan.
"We claim responsibility for this attack. We will continue such attacks unless the drone attacks are stopped," militants' spokesman Azam Tariq told AFP by telephone.
