Spanish champions Barcelona are poised to sign young left-back Jose Angel from Sporting Gijon, media reports said Monday, DPA reported.
Barca is to pay about 4 million euros (5.66 million dollars) for the promising 21 year-old in addition to the loan of a young Barca defender such as Marc Muniesa or Marc Bartra, the reports said.
Jose Angel was wanted by Malaga and Fiorentina in January, but Gijon decided to keep him to help in their annual battle against relegation.
The arrival of Jose Angel would probably lead Barca to sell off Maxwell, in whom Fiorentina are also interested.
