Pope's delivers Easter message of peace
Pope Francis in his first Urbi et Orbi Easter message appealed for peace in the Middle East, Africa and on the Korean peninsula, dpa reported.
"Christ is our peace, and through him we implore peace for all the world," he said.
The pontiff cited Israelis and Palestinians "who struggle to find the road of agreement," Iraq, "and above all for dear Syria, for its people torn by conflict and for the many refugees who await help and comfort."
He also noted the conflicts in Nigeria, eastern Congo and Central African Republic and condemned human and drug trafficking and the "the iniquitous exploitation of natural resources" as threats to world peace.
