Police said at least 14 people are now known to have died when the roof of a supermarket collapsed in the Latvian capital Riga, Latvian news agency LETA reported early Friday.
Rescue teams, including dozens of soldiers, were searching the rubble for survivors, the report said. Local hospitals have called for more blood donations following the collapse on Thursday evening, dpa reported.
Police are investigating the operator of the supermarket, the agency said.
