Minister for Internal Affairs: Ukraine is not ready to solve migration problem
(ForUm) - Minister for Internal Affairs Yuri Lutsenko considers that Ukraine needs to synchronize with Russia a signing of agreement on readmission with the European Union.
It is very important that we have an opportunity to synchronize this process with the signing of the same agreement with Russia. If we do everything right, illegal migrants deported from the EU will go home through the territory of Ukraine and Russia, Lutsenko told BBC Ukrainian, reports Trend.
He underlined that the matter concerns initialing, but not signing of the agreement on readmission. According to the minister, Ukraine has achieved a position that after the initialing it will have two-year respite for technical preparation to fight this problem.
Lutsenko pointed out that Ukraine is not ready to solve this problem today. According to him, Ukraine needs to build camps for illegal migrants, to improve legislation, to train specialists for psychological adaptation of migrants on its territory.
The minister also informed that Europe promises to render financial assistance to settle this problem.
