BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Russia and Kazakhstan have reached an agreement to extend the agreement on oil transportation through Kazakhstan until 2033, Trend reports.
The volume of transit will be increased to 10 million tons per year.
"Russia and Kazakhstan continue successful and mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector, especially in the oil sector. During a meeting with Kazakh colleagues, it was decided to extend the intergovernmental agreement on oil transit through Kazakhstan until the end of 2033, increasing the volume to 10 million tons per year," Russia’s Minister of Energy Nikolai Shulginov said.
During the meeting between Shulginov and Kazakh Minister of Energy Almassadam Satkaliev, issues of cooperation in the field of electric power industry were also discussed, including the participation of Russian companies in energy projects in Kazakhstan.
