Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a message to U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday condemning last weekend's armed attack against Democratic Representative Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona, Anadolu Agency reported.
In his message, Prime Minister Erdogan said that he commiserated with American people and strongly condemned the attack.
He also offered his condolences to those who lost their beloved ones in the attack.
Giffords, 40, was shot at close range during a public meeting in Tucson on January 8. Six people including a nine-year-old girl and a federal judge lost their lives in the attack and 13 people including Giffords were shot and wounded. She has still been in a critical condition.
