Turkish Ambassador in Berlin call on European countries to extend assistance to Syrian refugees, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkish Ambassador in Berlin Huseyin Avni Karslioglu made a call on Germany and other European countries to extend assistance to Syrian refugees who had to flee clashes in their country.

In an interview with the German Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, Ambassador Karslioglu underlined that more than 80,000 Syrians were presently staying in Turkey and they needed more tents, food and medical assistance.

"The issue of Syrians is not merely a financial one. Germany and other European countries must help the Syrians by hosting them," Karslioglu told the German newspaper.

"To date, Turkey made assistance worth 300 million euros to the Syrians. This figure is more than all assistance provided by the EU to Syrians so far," Karslioglu also told.
