Over 1.41 million tons of mazut were transshipped through the ports of Turkey in January 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
During the specified period, 94,502 tons of mazut were handled by ships flying the flag of Turkey, and more than 1.32 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.
In January of this year, over 30.032 tons of mazut were transited through the ports of Turkey.
In January 2021, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to over 29.1 million tons, including more than 2.5 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag.
During the reporting month, 6.04 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
Besides, according to the ministry, in 2020, the volume of cargo movement through the Turkish ports amounted to 365.4 million tons. Some 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 335.7 million tons – by ships flying the flags of other countries.
Over the past year, more than 72.4 million tons of cargo had been transited through the ports of Turkey, added the ministry.
