Turkey shares cargo traffic data for Izmir port in 10M2021

The volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish Izmir port in the first 10 months of 2021 exceeded 5.8 million tons, the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period ships flying the Turkish flag transported 406,358 tons of cargo, and ships flying the flags of other countries – more than 5.4 million tons via the Izmir port.

Meanwhile, 22 tons of cargo were transited through the port.

From January through October this year, the total volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 318.9 million tons, and ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 25 million tons of goods.

During the mentioned period, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries exceeded 293.8 million tons, the ministry noted.

At the same time, more than 63.7 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In October 2021, the total volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to over 32.4 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.3 million tons of cargo, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 30 million tons.

Besides, over 6.6 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports, added the ministry.
