Azerbaijan's Youth and Sports deputy minister Intigam Babayev has rejected his ties with the Nursi religious movement.

Babayev commented on earlier media reports that said he was having ties with the Nursi movement.

"This is laughable. We live in a free society and the press can write whatever it wants. If some media outlet spreads this information, and it considers itself a serious source, then such statements much be backed by concrete facts," Babayev told journalists on April 29.

Babayev went on to add that he has nothing to do with the Nursi religious movement and is busy with serving as the deputy minister of youth and sports.
