The victory of the Nur Otan party in the elections is a victory for all Kazakh people, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at a forum.
"This is our common victory, the victory of the Kazakh people. Voting results indicate that the Kazakh people support our policy for the country's development, upgrading the economy and policy, as well as improving citizens' welfare. The people voted for unity, mutual understanding and tolerance in society, for the party's specific work and programs," Nazarbayev said.
He said the party gained a victory in a competitive struggle. All participants were given an equal opportunity for campaigning. International observers highly assessed the election.
"The new parliament will have three parties. It means we need to get stronger, improve the quality of work in order to lead Kazakhstan to new victories in the coming decade," Nazarbayev said.
The elections in Kazakhstan were held on Jan.15. According to preliminary data, the party received 80.74 percent of the votes, Ak Zhol - 7.46 percent, and the Communist Party - 7.2 percent.
