Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that it wished Turkey and Armenia to solve their problems through dialogue, Anadolu News Agency reported.
The ministry made a statement to the AA regarding Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi's visit to Armenia on February 16-17, and said China was aware of the complexity of the historical problems between Turkey and Armenia.
"We wish the current problems between the two countries to be solved through dialogue," the statement said.
Moreover, Turkey's Ambassador to China Murat Esenli said Minister Yang visited the monument regarding 1915 incidents upon the insistence of Armenian authorities, and some Armenian web-sites tried to spread the image that China was supporting their vision.
Esenli said he had launched initiatives at the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the ministry had told him that Chinese management was not backing Armenian views.
