On 8 September the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, sent a message of
congratulation to Kim Jong-il, Chairman of the National Defense Commission of
the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the country's holiday,
Independence Day.
"I am hopeful our development of our interstate relations will
constantly open up ample opportunities for strengthening friendship and
cooperation between our peoples," said the President in his letter.
The Head of State extended his best wishes to Kim Jong-il and
wished peace and welfare to the people of Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
