Azerbaijani Citizens in   Russia to Take Active Part in Presidential Elections: Ambassador

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 October/ Trend , corr S. Agayeva/ Azerbaijani citizens living in Russia will take an active part in Azerbaijanїs presidential election, Polad Bulbuloglu, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia said to Trend .

Presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on 15 October.

Three polling stations have been set up in Russia with one of them being located in Azerbaijanїs Embassy in Moscow and two ї Consulate General in St Petersburg, Ambassador said. Great part of voters is students studying in Russia, people temporarily working and living there.

According to 2006 census figures, about 621,000 Azerbaijanis are living in Russia, 155,000 of which are Russian citizens.

The presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held on 15 October. A total of seven candidates will take part in the elections including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of Ruling New Azerbaijan Party, Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party, Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party, Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party, Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
