Georgia, Tbilisi, March 3 / Trend , N. Kirtskhalia /

Georgia cannot influence the sale of a Mistral warship to Russia. Despite any agreements, it is important to protect the country's interests as much as possible, State Minister for Reintegration Temur Yakobashvili said at a governmental meeting.

It is important to accept Georgia into NATO, because it can not compete with Russia in regards to arm deals, he said.

According to Yakobashvili, it is also important for Georgia to have an opportunity to acquire defensive arms after the sale of a Mistral to Russia, and this should not surprise anyone.

President Dmitry Medvedev said on his visit to Paris that acquiring French arms by Russia has entered an "exclusive phase."
