Georgian president announces March 4 mourning day after death of miners

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili announced March 4 a mourning day in connection with the death of four miners at the Mindeli mine in Tkibuli.
All flags have been lowered at public institutions today, and entertaining activities and TV programs have been canceled.
Saakashvili expressed his condolences to the relatives and friends of the dead miners and said the state will cover all the costs of the funeral.
An investigation into the incident has begun to determine the causes of the explosion. A state commission will watch over the investigation process.
