President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on May 24 received a UN delegation led by Secretary General`s representative on human rights of IDPs Walter Kalin, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

The President said the UN delegation`s visit was a good opportunity to see the situation of refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev said over a million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs as a result of Armenia`s military aggression against the country.
The President highlighted what the Azerbaijani government had been doing to improve social conditions of the country`s refugees and IDPs, saying this was among key priorities in the government policy.

The President said his country would continue sparing no efforts towards finding a solution to the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and "removing this injustice by ending Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan".

Kalin recalled his 2007 visit to Azerbaijan, saying he had a number of meetings to discuss the situation of refugees and IDPs.
He said the current visit also saw him familiarize himself with the situation of refugees and IDPs both in the capital Baku and regions, adding the Azerbaijani government had done great job in this regard since his 2007 trip.
